Amazing doesn’t always have to be good, right?

Cooties.

They’re prevalent these days,  exploding through our nation like so many soap bubbles in a bath with running water.  Everywhere you look, someone is sick with something; someone has cooties.

We are no exception, despite major education and a valiant attempt at prevention – I was sick last week; this week the kidlet has strep and I suspect the flu.  She is better now, a z-pack and rest and fluids.  I am better – a new sore throat but a z-pack waiting should I need it over the weekend.  DaHubby has the immune system of a tree – he rarely gets sick.

But the amazingness of cooties is that they are the one thing in this world that truly transcend barriers that everything else in this world seem to find insurmountable.  Cooties don’t care if you’re black, white, purple, green, or polka-dotted.   Cooties don’t care if you’re rich, poor, or middle-class.  They don’t care if you’re fat or thin.  They don’t care if you’re in sickness or health when they find you.

They just care that they find you.

image2138040419.jpgY’all. Seriously a good week. At least if you take work out of the equation, cause work was insane and made me want to scream at regular intervals.

First, Suzie came into my life and the joy that I feel every time she is coming is unexplainable. Oh sure it is. Suzie is my new cleaning lady. Y’all know the happiness I feel after she has been here and my house is spotless and smells like Mr. Clean, and I didn’t have to lift a finger to make it happen.

I freely admit to doing a little jig after she leaves.

Second: I got a great haircut and highlights from an awesome stylist who is both convenient and inexpensive. I might be in love and stop being so low maintnance soon.

Third: My lawn was aerated, mowed, and edged. It looks really nice. And DaHubby got to enjoy a nice yard without lifting a finger or waiting for the HOA to send us a threatening letter. *ahhhh*

Fourth: A trip to New Jersey for my MIL’s birthday party. TheKidlet was reasonably well-behaved, only to send us crashing back to reality in a Subway on the way home.

Fifth: while in NJ, we went to Brooklyn for the afternoon and hooked up with some high school peeps of mine. What an awesome day hanging out and reconnecting!

More to follow when I am back on the MacBook and have my pics.

Peace out, y’all.
